Change Your Gmail Display Name

When you send an email from your address your display name is shown to the recipient

Your display name may be inaccurate, out of date or something like Super Bob and you would like to change it, here's how

1 .Log in to your account www.gmail.com

2 .Click the gear icon to open the “Settings” menu

3 .Click "See All Settings”

4 .Click the “Accounts and Import” tab

5 .Under the “Send Mail As” section, you’ll see your email address and the display name

6 .Click the “Edit Info”

7 .Click the Dot next to the empty name box

8 .Type in your new display name

9 .Click "Save changes"

Once you click Save Changes you will notice your send as name has changed

The next time you send an email, your new display name will be shown to the recipient.

*You can’t use the Gmail mobile app on Android, iPhone, or iPad to change your name. This can only be done through a desktop browser.
